I am described as an authentic, resilient, trusted professional and have 28 years’ experience spanning across executive and Board roles, including ASX Listed CEO experience. My Industry exposure includes financial services across Wealth Management, Financial Advice, Asset Management, Insurance, Superannuation and Banking for retail and high net wealth clients across Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore.  

I am a strategic thinker who thrives in complex and challenging environments and has experience with large, complex highly regulated institutions, entrepreneurial businesses and fintech start-ups.   

My areas of expertise include Financial & Commercial Acumen, Strategy & Leadership, ASX CEO Experience, Banking, and financial Services knowledge – regulation and policy, diversity and inclusion and goal setting to achieve career goals.  

I am a proud advocate for diversity & Inclusion and helping lift the financial literacy skills of women from all industries and ages.  I am a mum to two teenage daughters and my husband is a stay home parent.   

This mentoring program will give me an opportunity to give back, collaborate and share my lived and unique experiences and fits with my goals of helping women achieve their goals.  I view the mentor-mentee relationship as a two-way learning experience and look forward to meeting new people and learning from them, our common threat is the privileged position we all have – Croatian Heritage, that has shaped us and being Australian/ New Zealanders with an abundance of opportunities.  

Marianne has a portfolio career that includes Non-Executive Directorships across the Financial Services Industry and is a Special Advisor for KPMG Australia.   Over the past 26 years her career has included senior executive roles at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) including Executive General Manager, Commonwealth Private Bank and Wealth Management Advice. Prior to CBA, she was appointed CEO of Count Financial Limited, this appointment in 2006 made her youngest female CEO of an ASX listed Company.  

In 2017, the Financial Services Council awarded Marianne the Industry Contribution Award for her two decades of work in the financial Services industry, her industry contributions were also recognised as a finalist for the FINSIA Pinnacle Award for the Most Outstanding Woman in Financial Services and for Money Management’s Female of the Year. 

Marianne holds a Bachelor of Economics with a Business Law major from Macquarie University and a Master of Business Administration from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management. She is currently studying Master Science - Coaching Psychology at The University of Sydney and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a proud member of Chief Executive Women.  

She is currently a Non-Executive Director and Audit and Risk Management Committee Chair, RAM Essential Service Fund (ASX:REP),  Non-Executive Director of Alpha Vista Financial Services Limited, a digital fintech start up business, Non-Executive Director, Orygen Foundation and Audit and Risk Committee member Luminesce Alliance.
